Using Job Notes in Cinderblock

Keep all your job-related communication in one place by getting the most out of the Notes feature.

Here’s everything you can do with Job Notes in Cinderblock:

Basic Job Notes Features

All notes related to a specific job can be found on the righthand side of the job view on the web or in the “notes” tab on mobile.

Tag Users

Type the “@” symbol and type a user’s name to tag them in a note. Once the first few characters are entered, you can click the user’s name/picture to autocomplete the name.

Note: Tagged users will be notified about the job note that they have been tagged in via email/push notification/web notification depending on their respective notification settings.

Pin Notes

After creating a note, click the Three Dots button and select “Pin Note”.
Pinned notes will be visible at the top of the “Job Notes” section. Clicking on them will take you to that specific note.

Creating Private Notes

Click the Private Eye icon to make a note private. Only the creator of a private note will be able to see it.
To make a private note public (or vice versa), click the Three Dots button and select “Make private/Make public”.

Reply to a Note

Click the Reply icon to reply to a specific note.

Advanced Features

The main benefit of keeping all your job-related communication in one place is your team’s ability to reference files, appointments, estimates, invoices, etc. from anywhere within the job view.

Access From Anywhere

You can instantly see all notes related to a job from any modal window by clicking the View Notes icon.
This can be useful when you think of a note you want to leave in the middle of doing something else or when you need to look up information while you’re creating an appointment, estimate, invoice, etc.

References in Notes

There are two ways to mention specific assets1 in Cinderblock.

Method 1
Click the Three Dots icon next to any asset and click “Mention in Job notes”.

Method 2
Whenever you have an open modal, click the Mention in Job notes icon and the asset in the modal will be attached to the note that you leave.

Note: All basic functions (tags, pinning a note, private notes) are available when creating notes with asset attachments.

  1. Assets are anything that can be created inside a job (appointment, task, form, work order, estimate, invoice, file, etc.) ↩︎
